As part of the Creative Ports project, On the Move member ARS BALTICA launched a research study on Cultural Funding tools with a focus on Mobility Funding and Cooperation Funding. The aim of the research study, which was done in cooperation with On the Move, is to map all relevant funding tools on Mobility Funding and Cooperation Funding for the CCI. The study includes the current state of the arts regarding the funding schemes, sub-sectors, cross-sectorial potential trends, discrepancies and access to funding.

The study also proposes policy recommendations for future equal accessibility on funding tools and knowledge for all eleven Baltic Sea Region countries (Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Russian Federation, Germany and Poland) in order to address the huge gaps of access to funding between countries and the specificities of the different CCI sub-sectors.

Researchers for On the Move: Marie Fol, Marta Keil, Claire Rosslyn Wilson, and data analyst/web developer John Ellingsworth.

ARS BALTICA is launching a call for proposals for developing a research study on CCI/Cultural Funding tools supporting CCI Internationalisation covering the whole Baltic Sea Region including the following 11 countries: Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Iceland; Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Russia, Sweden.

A key outcome/focus of the research study is to map all relevant/existing Funding tools on Mobility Funding and Cooperation Funding for the CCI Sector within the BSR in order to be used as a basis to create a digital BSR CCI/Cultural Funding Guide. The data have to be collected in suitable format for further processing. (To be defined in accordance with client.)

The second pillar of the research study is to develop a possible structure, mapping all existing Funding categories relevant to the CCI sector in the BSR to be used for creating the backbone of a digital BSR CCI/Cultural Funding Guide.

Third pillar of the research study is to develop a sustainable data updating system to be applied for the future with focus on national/regional network-systems including possible collaboration partnerships.

As a fourth pillar of the research study a written Policy recommendation for future equal accessibility on funding tool/knowledge for all involved BSR countries with focus on mobility and cooperation funding should be developed that (1) defines gaps and lack of accessibility by geographical means within the BSR as well as (2) proposals of possible solution to those.

The available budget for this action is max. 9800€ (incl. VAT). All outcomes should be delivered latest until 1st September 2021.

Deadline: 12 May 2021

More info and apply: https://www.ars-baltica.net/fileadmin/download/CCI-Funding_Study_call.pdf

Our guide to cross-border mobility for artists and cultural workers from and travelling to Sweden.

This cultural mobility funding guide lists national, local and international resources from both public and private funders. Two kinds of opportunity are included: outgoing and incoming. The outgoing opportunities are for nationals and residents of Sweden wishing to travel outside the country. The incoming opportunities are for nationals from other countries who want to travel to Sweden.

The guide only lists regular opportunities that are accessible online (for instance for touring, residencies, collaborations, training, etc.). Funds where information is only available offline, schemes which do not use open calls, and one-off or short-term funding programmes are not included.

Since 2011, On the Move has published 60 funding guides focusing on specific countries or world regions. They aim to make information on mobility funding clear and accessible, letting artists and cultural operators explore the field of opportunities. By gathering a large body of information in one place, they also help funders and policymakers to see how support is structured and to notice any shortfalls.

Our guides are always produced with partners, organisations and/or researchers who have a close relationship to the region, and we try to make them as complete as possible. If you see something is missing and it meets our editorial policy, then you can email mobility@on-the-move.org
